After reading this great story with photos on a boating forum, I knew that members here would appreciate it. Story and photos of a 1911 that stopped a sniper's bullet on Iwo Jima.

When I was a kid, my dad had a friend who brought back a M1 Carbine from Korea that a bullet had struck the bolt and imbedded. It was cool, and scary to think about.
