What kind of Bow do you hunt with? - 09/14/09 05:09 PM
Just curious to hear all the responses. I shoot a Darton Excel with a 31.5" pull, set at 69 lbs. I'll back it off about 10 lbs. right before the season starts. It's a Dinosaur, but I can take a fly off a horses fanny with it. It's been updated several times over the years. I bought it in the 80's when Smithfield Archery was a feed store in Smithfield.
But it still performs like a champion. How 'bout yall?

I shoot a Fred Bear that I bought 8 or 9 years ago. 60 pound draw weight. I am just now getting back into it after a few years of not hunting with it.

redhead toxic,(basically a diamond black ice, got it at bass pro with my discount a few years back! dont work there anymore though), 60 lbs draw weight, 28 inch draw, love it. Big Tony, i from north richland hills and know the wallace family that runs that shop, great people! i go to them for all my bow work, i wish they hadnt moved there shop though! not as close!

PSE Typhoon with 28" draw set at 65 lbs. I haven't shot anything with it yet, but this may be my year.

Hoyt Vulcan, 28" draw and 64lb pull. Im shooting Carbon express arrors and G5 Striker broad heads @ 303fps.

Been shootin' Matthews Outback since I started archery 5 yrs ago. 55#/26.5" draw and wouldn't trade it...well except for maybe the new Reezen!

Evotech 70lb 30" draw, I guess I was the only one to do the Evotech thing. Good bow but should have stuck with a name brand that was stable since they went out of buissiness. Now I have a bow that isn'ts worth quat.
