An update from Jim Reeves about Bram
A quick update on my friend (and book subject) Bram Kohlhausen:
By now most of you know that Bram fell from a helicopter during a hunting trip south of San Antonio. He suffered massive injuries over most of his body, including a crushed pelvis and crushed feet. He is in ICU at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio.
He is sedated and, on a ventilator, so it's unclear what head trauma he may have suffered just yet. He will be having or has already had several orthopedic surgeries to address some of his broken bones but the doctors are necessarily keeping them as short as possible so as not to adversely affect any of his damaged organs.
Bram is a fighter, as demonstrated when he led TCU back from a 31-0 deficit in the 2015 Alamo Bowl against Oregon to a win in triple overtime, tying the biggest comeback in bowl history in his first and only collegiate start. That comeback now seems trivial to the one he faces in the coming days, months and even years.
Please keep Bram in your prayers.
