Custom Knife Giveaway

Custom Knife Giveaway - 11/20/22 10:08 PM

Well, one small catch…

I was doing this on a Facebook hunting page, but apparently it kept getting the page flagged and was causing issues because the algorithms thought it was promoting violence. So I’ll move it to THF…

I make knives as a hobby. I’m not a pro like the many we have in Texas and on this site, but I enjoy making them. I just give them away to friends, etc. Moving forward, I’ve decided to give them away to individuals that have served our country. Again, I’m not that good and there will be small blemishes and imperfections, but you will have a knife handmade by me that will be 100% unique. The knife will come with a sheath also made by me, and also not perfect but very functional. As I continue to make them, hopefully I’ll continue to improve.

How to enter: Post a picture of yourself in your uniform. I’ll draw a name at minimum once a month and mail you the knife if you win. Thanks for your service!

This month’s knife: 3/16th 1084 drop point. Imitation ivory micarta with dark cherry liners, nickel pins, and a lanyard hole.

Haha, I may need to pay people to take them…

Don’t be shy, gals and guys! Throw your hat in the ring. Here are some other knives I’ve made.

They're good knives, just not as good as some of the phenomenal work you see with some of our local knifemakers. I've probably given a couple dozen away and the recipients have always liked them, but the level of precision and detail the pros put into a blade is incredible and beyond my skill level.

That said, who wants a free knife? I know we have plenty of people that have served on this site.

I want to thank you for generous gift. I am hoping I can get my shop finished and also pay something forward someday. I, like everyone else that served, signed the dotted line because we wanted to and expected nothing in return. But this does make everything in my crazy mind feel more at ease. You are an amazing man, I hope you truly understand the difference you make.

Re: Custom Knife Giveaway - 11/24/22 02:45 AM

I never met my grandfather because he died when my mom was 13, but he was a bomber pilot shot down in WWII. Safely landed the plane and rescued the whole crew. Won a bunch of medals for his actions. As someone that has a fear of flying, I cannot even fathom the bravery it takes to fly into a battle and then crash land a plane.

That’s how I view the entire military. Unimaginable sacrifice and bravery.

Knives aren’t squat, but I enjoy making them and hope you like it.

Nice of you to do this. I expect there is a pic of me in uniform somewhere but, after 50+ years, I wouldn’t know where to look.
