Alaska Caribou Hunt Questions - 10/31/22 01:55 AM
Not sure if this is the right forum for this. I am thinking about doing a 2024 DIY caribou hunt. I wanted some recommendations on air charter services and camp set up services. Any other information is welcomed. Do’s don’ts, gear list, units, photos, I will take it all in.

I thought above a certain latitude you had to have a guide.

Not for caribou. You need a guide for brown bear, sheep and goats.

Thanks, didn't know that. Does anyone know how much it costs for a "drop camp" these days. That is, you have a sleeping bag, food, etc. and a float plane drops you at a site with a wall tent and then picks you up a week later and you hunt for the week on your own.
