Does anyone in the Dallas Lewisville area know how to fix Mr Buddy heaters? My pilot won’t stay lit when you release pilot button. I have a couple doing this.

Did you try a bbq lighter?

They are super simple devices. Take it apart and see if something is obvious.

Dip a q-tip in rubbing alcohol and clean out the gas port with it. If you are connecting it to a remote tank you might need to change the filter on the heater end of the hose.

Run a pipe cleaner thru the pilot hole. Then dump dump out the debris if any inside it. Probably a dirt dauber or spider got in it.

It’s a common issue they have. Google it

If the pilot lights but goes out when releasing the button it will be the thermocouple or the the connector. I've had two with the same issue, unplugged the spade connector, crimped it slightly, plugged it back in.

Also, clean the thermocouple. Just did this two weeks ago, same problem, problem solved...

I had this problem last week. Get a can of compressed air and stick it down the hole where the pilot flame comes out. Problem solved.

Pilots on Buddy Heaters are prone to dirt. A little compressed air should fix it.

Make sure you hold it down and keep the pilot lit long enough before releasing button

I had a problem with my Little Buddy where the pilot would go out when I released the On button. Replaced the thermocouple and it worked temporarily. I finally realized that the OFF button was sticking. A couple of shots of WD40 silicon spray loosened it up and now the Little Buddy works fine. Never tried this on the larger models with the twist knob, but will the next time I have a problem with one of them.

A simple broom straw worked up/down in the pilot hole might solve your issue, as a starting point.
