Old Grandpappy was sober as a judge half the time. Spent a lot of time telling stories about the wild woods of the old days. He told about those canebrake rattlers as big as a log and black panthers that were silent killers. He once told about a ground nest of yellowjackets so big you could've fallen into it. Too many city folks these days that don't spend enough time in the woods at night to know about these things.
