Got an email today from NMDGF saying I got drawn for my elk hunt. First year putting in and got my first pick drawn archery first season. I'm stoked.
Who else was successful.

My buddy in NM just got drawn for a Bow...Bull Elk tag near Cloudcroft.
Ill get more info and maybe we can all hook up and grab a beer.

Damn it!!! I drew unit 9 elk and unit 34 mule deer. I'll wait to tell the wife until Monday, I want to have a good weekend. Lol

Congrats!!! My group was drawn for our 3rd choice hunt, Unit 50 archery Elk. Will be the third year in a row hunting that unit. Gonna know that place like the back of my hand!!!

Yes. We didn't get lucky this year, put in for ML in 36 & 34 and rifle in 16. I don't remember when they issue the refunds though.

I know if you are unsuccessful your license will be refunded but I think the fee for the tag is not.

We barely got in with our third choice unit 2B muzzle loader for deer. Hadn't been drawn since they changed the tag allocation a couple of years ago.

Does colorado divide the tags up like New Mexico?

Colorado allows you to build preference points so you can count on drawing the tag you want if your patient. They do give more tags to residents but it's not nearly as lop sided as NM has become. NM made it pretty tough when they changed things a couple years ago, although the preference point system is getting pretty ridiculous in some states too. Some of the tags i'm trying to get take 16-20 points. I will be too old to go on some of those hunts by the time I draw the tag.

Unit 31 mulies..1st week of November any legal weapon. Got drawn on our 2nd choice, looks like we drew 2 out of 45 tags they issued to non-residents.
