What is your favorite Camo?

Wondering what everybody's favorite camo is? Would be helpful to know where you hunt.

Mine is Real Tree AP and I hunt North Texas, South Central Oklahoma, SE Kansas and Central Missouri.

I don't put much thought into camo these days. It's a waste of money for most hunting ventures, but when I do feel the need to wear it, I prefer Predator. The sticks and leaves patterns just don't cut it.

I hunt North Texas and Arkansas.

Don't need camo if sitting in my deer blind, but when I choose to hunt outside of the blind or when I am spot and stalking mulies, Sitka Optifade Open Country is my choice. Blends in great with the West Texas terrain.

Real Tree AP is mine. It worked for the areas that I was hunting that had some pines and oak forests.

Green Wrangle Chambray Shirt and blue jeans. With a what ever jacket I grab due to the temp. If it is really cold then I put on Cabelas Outfitter Windshear Fleece.

I shot a buck this year wearing jeans and a hoodie. He walked right out in front of me following a doe. Even after I dropped him, I don't think the doe ever saw me because she ran straight in my direction.

Smell & Sound >>> sight for deer.

Anyone had any experience with Natural Gear? Was looking at some of their stuff

I like GameGaurd for down South and out West. Pretty good pattern.

If in Cedar country I'll wear some Realtree.

Mossy oak brush or duckblind. Don't know if they make the duckblind anymore but I bought like 6 long sleeves when it was out. Looks like the brush though

I have changed on the camo thing. If you do not wear it, only olive drab, etc. You tend to feel more visible so you sit still. IMHO deer see camo just fine and if you think you can move around because you are wearing camo- big mistake. Plenty of guys shoot deer with blue jeans, etc. I still wear camo but just how effective it is I'm not sure. Sitting still is the best camo. Ducks are different, camo then.

I prefer the good old fashioned brown camo for duck hunting, blends in everywhere I hunt.

Generally if im hunting from a blind, it's jeans and a dark color shirt/coat. If I'm hunting a ground blind (rarely) I have a pair of dark camo pants in the old school woodland camo pattern and I'll wear a camo t shirt or coat. I sit still and I think that 90% of the time wearing dark colors and not letting yourself get silhouetted are more than adequate for the way most of us hunt. I do however think I am going to be in the lookout for Some good camo for coyote hunting. I'm just getting into the predator stuff, but it seems like they are much more leery of what they see than deer or pigs.

I like camo for hunting birds, but deer it's not that important. Just sit still!

Inside of the blind, no camo needed.

I wear Nat Gear. I've always liked it. As some have said, it really doesn't matter what you wear if your in a box stand or 30 feet in a tree, but for bow hunting and turkey hunting, Nat Gear is great. It doesn't stand out like a black blob at a distance like most camo patterns do.

Is Carhartt considered a camo choice? If so, that's what i wear.

kamo is a state of mind...I wear it all the time mainly because when I dribble my favorite beverage or meal of the day on my clothes it just blends in...

I think all the choices now are more than adequate. Ultimately for me it's about the fabric and fit as well as weather proof and quiet.

Uh.......jeans & a shirt. OR whatever happens to be on sale.

How 'bout this:

Realtree AP until this past year. But now it is Sitka Optifade Forest. I had purchased some last year for a New Mexico elk bow hunt and have had a couple of experiences that have made me a believer in their pattern "science". Bottom line is that several times I have encountered deer and elk while in the open and in very close range and they simply could not make me out when I was standing right in front of them and they were looking for me.

Here is my favorite. Great for those warm early season hunts.

Tanned deer hide with fake antlers.

Asat. Real tree and mossy oak don't hold a candle to it.

If you find yourself on those types of hunts/situations often. High quality camo is worth it. If you hunt from a blind, or tree stand, it's really unnecessary.

I shot a 10pt last year with a rifle in my buddies bow stand. I was hunting on his place and he only has stands for bows. 20 yards max. Watched him for 10 minutes before I shot him. He looked all around, never up. I was in boots, blue jeans, solid green t shirt and black jacket.

I like GameGuard. The deer don't seem to care what I am wearing though.

Actually, I think the only two colors that deer can actually perceive are blue and yellow.

Hard to beat basic brown or green from Carhartt or Dickies.

If it's winter I go all Paul Bunyan style. Wool pants, suspenders, flannel shirt.

If it's summer I go all Wal-mart style. $5 camo t-shirt, cotton shorts, flip flops.

Depends on the country you are hunting, but basic woodland is my first choice.

Cabelas outfitter camo, can't beat it.

In tree it's mossy oak whatever is in the closet. In a pop-up black t- shirt or hoodie. Predator hunting is a whole different deal it's mossy oak brush head to toe. In a blind I would wear my pajamas if I had to but I don't wear any!

90% of the time dark greens and browns shirt, pant/shorts combination. When camo is necessary Mossy Oak Break Up seems to blend pretty well in S Texas. Realtree Leafy for Turkey. Colors I avoid: Red, Blue, White. Not exactly patriotic but from what I have read these are the colors that stand out to most game as either threatening (red/blue for Turkey) or are more visible (blue for Deer). And of course the required orange when necessary.

With all that said my father-in-law has been hunting since the 1940's and doesn't wear anything except blue jeans and whatever shirt he grabs. He used to wear a denim jacket even. He's probably killed more game around the world than I will ever see.

I'm a predator hunter more than anything.

Realtree is what I wear when hunting predators as well as everything else. It works in Collin, Fannin, and Coryell counties where I hunt.

More importantly I remember the words of a late 1960's sniper instructor, via a documentary I watched.

Add movement to the list for weary eyes. Those will keep you hidden at distance. Less than 100 yards I want to be wearing camo.

If I'm bowhunting from my ground blind, I'm in all black. In a tree I'll wear Mossy Oak Treestand, Core4 Mountain Mimicry or the Vertigo. For everything else and someone made me pick from what I have, I would probably pick my Natty Gear, I've used it for the last 10ish years. Someone already said it but comfort and performance is just as important to me. It's hard for me to stay warm and comfortable in blue jeans when it's 15 degrees or if it's raining, all of my warm and stay dry stuff is camo. Just snagged some Sitka open country on a clearance sale so I'm looking forward to trying that out when I get it.

Mossy Oak I like that Redhead stuff that feels like a football jersey it doesn't fade like cotton and it's good in warm weather and in cold weather just get some under armour and thermals and it's fine too.
