Yes, he said he was going hunting. When hunting you need a hunting license.

A license is required to hunt all game in Texas...Property owners
who are controlling vermin are not required to have a hunting lic., however, this is open to interpatation...so I'd advise that
you have a license..DD

Most property owners I've known get one anyway but then again about all of them did some sort of hunting or at least might do hunting/fishing so they got a combo.

I'm sure he has pigs. Get his blessing & shot some of them evil creatures. No license needed with landowner's permission. Just be prepared to have uncle on speed dial should the game warden come along.

If you keep the animal or its' product you are hunting and need a
license..including landowners...if it was for varmit control and
the animal w/left there it's vermin control..DD

duke: you might want to check out page 25 of the Outdoor Annual in your spare time:

Exceptions: a hunting license is not required to hunt the following:
• Coyotes, if the coyotes are attacking, about to attack, or have recently attacked livestock, domestic
animals, or fowl.
• D epredating feral hogs, if a landowner (resident or non-resident) or landowner’s agent or lessee is
taking feral hogs causing depredation on the landowner’s land.
• Fur-bearing animals, if the hunter possesses a trapper’s license or if the fur-bearing animals are causing
depredation.

Much cheaper to just get the darn license and not have to worry about someone elses interpretation of the law.

No comment on the Depredation thing. We all know about it. It has been beat to death.

My question is why wouldn't you already have a Hunting License?
