What food do you carry to the blind?

If you are going to stay in your blind all day, what kind of food do you take with you. I am looking for something different from the usual sandwich and chips. Want something easy, not too messy or greasy. Sometimes I carry boiled eggs.

beef jerkey and snuff!!! yummy

I like tweenkies, HoHo's and Honey buns. I keep a jar of candy corn in my blind.

Jerky... Pork and beans/canned fruit/peanuts/sardines/bacon and eggs/sirloin/stew/ pot of coffee/chili/dried fruit/crown royal/"black velvet if I have company."

I've taken a Lunchable for longer sits.

sounds like u have a pantry and a small liquor store!!!! i like the way you think.

Sorry, worm dirt ain't my thing and certainly don't concider it food.

Sausage balls..... all the time, all day, every trip...

Copenhagen, water/gatorade, thermos of coffee, pistachios, sandwich. ^^^^^^^2-3 empth 20oz water bottles^^^^

Peanut butter crackers, Dr. Pepper, and some times peanuts.

I guess im the only one that eats burritos and vienna sausages when i hunt..

if i stay all day and did not pack a sandwich, then i will usually take: clif bars, zonebars or some kind of protein bars, variety of nuts, fruits of choice, 1 junk food item, plenty of drinks and maybe some baked crackers or chips. forgot to add jerky (a must)

I take nothing but water. Last thing I want is for the blind to smell like a Town and Country.

Especially since the Town and Country sold to Stripes, the have become the filthiest convenience stores in Texas. We used to buy all of our gas at T&C, along with drinks etc., but not anymore, Stripes has ruined a good chain of stores.

Breakfast bars and/or leftovers from the night before. Fruit is carried on just about every hunt.

Now that I think about it, you're absolutely right...it has gone south as far as cleanliness is concerned

Same here. I have enough food units stored to last me through a sit.

Chewy bars and jerkey help hold me over. For breakfast I like mini muffins

Thanks for all the replies guys. I got some new ideas and some reminders of things from the past. That is what's great about getting older, every thing is a new adventure.

Mountain Dew, rice krispies, mixed nuts, lunchables, and left over Halloween candy.

Dried fruit, water, jerky, packets of string cheese, Snickers bar, packets of cheese crackers, granola bars, summer sausage. I do not drink beer or whiskey while hunting. I do that back at camp after the day's hunting is over and guns are put away.

Just depends on the day usually take a few small items. No need to get out of the blind early to go #1 or #2 for that matter

Gotta say, nothing better than cracking a cold one or twoo as the sun sets and you are just watching deer feed around your stand. We are always very careful to not get carried away, and I hunt around a very small group of other hunters that I really feel comfortable around, so I am ok with it. That, and we dont shoot often in the evenings.

Sure are a lot of people that eat snuff. Is there much nutritional value in snuff? How many calories per serving? Do you eat it straight out of the can or do you mix it with other forms of tobacco? Is it best fried or steamed? What is the shelf life of snuff? Is snuff enough by itself? Have you ever tried smoking it?

I made him stop honking ........... he sends up smoke signals now days.

I don't take food, maybe a bottle of water, but I eat a sandwich before I go out I the morning! I take my Grizzly pouches and a bottle of water and that's it!

If I don't eat something after being in the blind for 3 or 4 hours my stomach growling scares every animal in the county.

Morning hunts = water, hunny bun and cope.
Evening hunt= Beer,Beer,Beer and more Beer. Oh and Cope. Evening hunt without beer is like going with out bullets, it just dont work.

I go to the blind to get my food.....

If I take crackers, jerky, candy or whatever has "loud packaging" I always take the product out of the original packaging and put in a zip lock bag. Prefer plastic bottle drinks over cans as well simply for the noise factor. I hunt in the woods and everything seems louder.

Honey bun and a coke but I'm not hunting all day.

if im staying in the blind all day im making me some huevos rancheros! I have a mr heater that works as a heater or turn it on its side and you now have 16k btu stove. Ha, havent made huevos rancheros yet but i did make some bacon and eggs once. I didnt see anything that morning but i sure ate good. Any other time i take a granola bar, maybe an apple, jerky or whatever other snacks i have if i plan on being out a long time.

Nothing like some good old MRE's I keep a case or two around.

cucumber and sweet bean sauce.

Several bottles of Dr. Pepper, and some beef jerky. I also keep several empty bottles in my blinds when that Dr. Pepper is ready to come out the other end.

and a RED BULL

Slim Jims & PB Crackers, and Snickers.

This makes me hungry now !!
