Who did it better? - 03/27/24 01:05 AM

Listening to the classic country show on the radio this morning.
They played both Dwight and Elvis, not back to back though.

Both were outstanding renditions.

Both were outstanding renditions, in their own way.

Both, but can't beat the original.

I agree, as much as I love Dwight.

Only two good things ever came out of California. Ronald Reagan and Dwight Yoakam

They're both great and I still turn both their music up loud.

Never heard anything but Elvis. I may give the other a try but it’s impossible to be better. Can’t even be close.

Dwight gets my vote- but he's actually a Kentucky boy and surely a UK fan too.

White Scrotum did a good job on the remake

For all of you saying you like the original, you sure you've heard Mark James sing it? I haven't. Elvis hardly wrote a single song he made famous. Waylon did it better than either. It's more famous than Dwight's as well.

Enjoyed that

That’s a hard call. Love them both but lean toward Dwight bc of the version of the song.

Elvis voice range from the high's to the lows were far better than Dwights. Don't get me wrong, I like Dwight and he did a good job but he just does not have the dynamic range of the King.

Elvis, he was Blessed with his voice.

I had never heard Yoakum so I listened. Better than I thought and I went in thinking no way.
It may just be because I grew up listening to Elvis but hes hard to be compared to.
