I’ve been doing some engineering work at both the TI plant in Sherman and the Samsung plant in Taylor. Micro electronics production in Texas has taken off for the better. Good paying jobs galore!

They better start putting in some infrastructure for all these new people. The traffic is already getting bad and the shopping/restaurants are so busy idk where the hell all these people will be going.

One more drop in the bucket making me think I'm going to have to sell my dream home, and move again.

The current values are not something I expected so quickly.

It's sad what has happened to North Texas.

I can tell you it looks nothing like that when you order and it’s not that good. Plus they’re a bunch of liberals, they put on an event for Beto when he was running for Gov.

Maybe you have not seen the new Whataburger and Braums plans?. roflmao

My wife works at the city, and sometimes the term silicon plains is thrown around.

My hope is that they do not tax me out of Grayson County before my daughters graduate high school after that, I don’t care

We work very closely with the EDC's in both Denison/Sherman and get updates quite frequently. Sometimes I just roll my eyes when they talk about what is coming. I can't believe out by 1417/75 they just put in the exact same food places we already have 1-2 miles up the road all of which are fast food. We haven't gotten an actual good "restaurant" in years, we spend all our money locally at City Limits anyway.

We are also a huge partner with TI and Global, from what they're saying we're about to get a huge influx of worker's coming to the area with little to no housing for them. Property values are about to jump again along with taxes as well.

It's inevitable. Everywhere. One of these two tings will happen first. Either the entire earth will fill up and will be one large city with zero country left, or the Rapture.

Our place down outside of Kerens, I used to pass maybe one car a month on our dirt road. Probably less than that. Now, I pass at least 1-2 cars every time I hit the road. People buying up 5 and 10 acre plots and moving in. Ugh.

We started fishing Texoma almost 20 years ago. We would go numerous times per year. Each year the busier it got the less we went. The idiot "boat shows" got to be way too much to handle. Fishing is supposed to be relaxing. If two fish hit the surface a dozen or more boats would roar in and chase the fish back down. I would have given anything for a RPG.

There are not many places in Texas that are not blowing up. New Braunfels and Georgetown were named fastest growing cities in the country at 50,000 and under. Everywhere you turn in Georgetown there are apartments and RV Parks being built -

In my neck of the woods I am always getting mail and phone calls to buy my place. I saw a hay field come up for sale 3 miles down the road and called the realtor about the property. He told me they had cut it up into 10 acre plots and all that was left was 17 acres. For chits and grins I asked how much they wanted for it and was told $300K !!! Freeked me right out so I called an older couple across the highway from me and told them I was concerned about land being cut up and asked if they ever thought about selling would they give me right of first refusal so I could lock it up.

My only recent experience actually in Sherman was son's football game up there. The demographics seemed pretty poor to me. We were visiting team and outnumbered the Sherman home crowd 3 to 1. A resident told me that the school's don't have much parental involvement or support.

It's nothing new. It's been that way all along. What comes next? In about 2039 the economy will crap out and all the businesses will move out of Sherman just like in the early 1980's. Grayson County has always been a "boom town". From WWII onward the next three or four decades all manner of manufacturing moved in and by 1990 it was almost all gone.

I used to catch them on regular basis back in the 80's on top waters, I used to also fish alot behind the damn when they let water out same time period. We would use large pencil poppers with #9 lead in them so we could throw to the Oklahoma side with 15 feet surf rods.

They used to have a fenced off area so that was high as you can go, but it was a blast to hang a big one and walk him down the wall yelling "Fish On"

Once I got into bass fishing around 2000 I went full into Bass Fishing and loved that lake for smallies

Back when I was fishing for stripers we only wanted big ones, the bigger the better.

Now of days the guides take them out and target what they call box fish, they want to catch thier limits and go home.

I used to target large stripers with large lures on the lake on top water on Texoma, and if they would release water we would target the behind the damn on Texoma.

I would also sometime fish behind Whitney damn in the winter and catch trout at the bridge and walk up behind the damn and free spool them on the deep water pools up there.

Al of this was back in late 70's and early 80's.

If you are talking about the travel center on exit 72, just go to your local school cafeteria!! Post up a name and I will eat there tomorrow . We need a butcher shop, the one in Durant also does deer processing. I dropped a buck off and picked up the meat that was thrown together from 3 differnt hunters!!! not going back

Red Ranger- You are dead spot on. I have friiends that are guides up here running up to 3 trips a day. Fish late April may and Oct for topwater action. rest of the time it is drop live bait 20-30 and lift the rod straight up!! Cant stand bait fishing like that. Or fish the rocky banks for smallmouths

If going northbound on 75 it would be exit 69 (120 do a U Turn) its on southbound frontage road, called Heritage Butchery & BBQ.

I don't think it's the type of butchery you're looking for though.

We've had good results with Hess Meat Market in Munster, although a little out of the way, but they do a good job. This is also where my father in law gets all his meats for his bbq truck all are top quality. You can definitely taste the difference in bulk (SAMs) brisket vs the Hess briskets.

I am here as promised, the butcher shop has a selection of meats priced like Whole Foods. Only real quality up here if you want to spend the money. Food is average and nothing special. Brisket is moist but unspectacular, sides are typical offerings and average. Sauce is below average. Not worth the trip, had better in North Carolina last week, Hutchins and others in metroplex are much better. All of it is much better than the bbq at exit 72 in the gas station.

Same ole same wherever you go lol.
