Shorted meds

Shorted meds - 03/14/24 01:50 AM

So my wife has two antibiotics that I picked up at Walgreens on Sunday. Supposed to be 10-day supply, 2x daily for 20 pills each. Just gave her tonight's ration and discovered one bottle is short 7 pills. WTF!! Never had this happen before. What's the odds Walgreens will own up and make it right? Damn...everything concerning my wife's illness has been a f-ing beatdown!

Have that happen before, but it was noted and they called with the others two days later. Said they did not want to delay treatment. Walmart has not filled the scrip before when they were short on inventory until they had a full order

Yea, when that happens, they mark out the number and write in what they actually filled. That didn't happen this time. And .. I just noticed the shorted meds are the ones that cost me 10x the other ones!

I know it can be stressful taking care of someone but you got this.

When my wife was in the hospital the end of December I realized how much you have to stay on top of things and be their advocate. I would arrive in the morning and her breakfast would be there on the tray. If I didn’t show up to feed her I don’t know what would have happened. I really can’t blame them as they have so many patients and there are so few of them. I know when she was in the hospital in 2016 they had someone stay in the room at night with her to make sure she didn’t get out of bed since it didn’t have an alarm on it.

I’ll keep praying for your wife and for you as well.

Thank you very much. It has been extremely stressful, and after receiving a letter from Tricare today (another problem) and then this just set me off. A month of 14+hr days sitting in the hospital waiting for answers has fried my brain. Guess I just needed to vent. flame

I had a pharmacy do it with narcotics. I confronted the pharmacist and he said the correct number was put in there. I can see it both ways. He thinks I am a druggie, and I know the tech stole them and he can't admit it.

Good news this morning. Walgreens pharmacy manager was very nice, apologized, and gave me the correct amount. Also, my call to Tricare turned out well. Don’t want to jinx it, but today may be a good one!
Thanks everyone.

A buddy of mine told me yesterday that CVS told him they were out of a pain medication his wife needed - hip replacement surgery. Pharmacist told him directly they did not have the medication in stock.
Then the next day, he gets a text that says "your prescription is ready"
Goes to the store, the scrip is not filled. Asks the guy on duty and he says we have it, the concern was whether your insurance would cover it. My buddy says "fill the prescription - I will pay for it"
The first knothead would not fill it for some reason and didn't ask if he could pay out of pocket.

gettin' weird everywhere.
