The initially said “solar flair”. Nobody believed that horseshit so now they came out with a new answer

The vulnerability of the networks…glad we’ve got HAM radios!

Hmm... Is this is the "official" explanation?

Yep. AT&T texted me with an arbitrary apology and a link with an explanation, that’s what was on their site

Here’s the link they provided, which is where I got that screenshot

You could always switch to Verison, come to my ranch, and it say "No signal" all the time.

Ha!! Funny, I commonly don’t have signal in 1 of my 2 hunting blinds…I’ll let my wife know when I go to the no signal blind and I sometimes go there just to make sure I can’t be reached

People want to gripe, but it's technology, it is bound to fail at some point. We act like it's the end of the world, but I remember the days of pagers and finding a landline to make a call.

When I started my career I had a smart beep pager and a pocket full of quarters. Every informant had my beeper number.

I noticed it but was barely an inconvenience and nobody that I’m aware of panicked. Talked to a few people and the reactions were just “meh”…

With WiFi you could still text, get on the internet etc.

When I stated out, my pager squelled like an injured rabbit and I a pay phone cost a dime.

Mine squealed too but southwestern bell changed coin phones to 25 cents in 1995.

Oh. My injured rabbit was from mid 70's. I should have added, with our dime, we called an local answering service and spoke to a live person. LOL. By '95, I had a smart beeper and pay phones were a quarter.

However, after dark, the drug dealers used many pay phones as an office and didn't mind telling you so. So, I had a cell phone in the truck. It was a bag phone. Still have the same number.

AT&T is giving those affected a $5 credit to your bill for your troubles. Don’t spend it all in one place.

I was out in the woods and only have a wifi hotspot that I use...which, funny enough, uses AT&T towers so I was completely out of touch for 8-9 hours...I thoroughly enjoyed it, other than being out there by myself and not being able to reach out in case of an emergency or be reached in case of a home emergency
