Crushed Rock Supplier?

Crushed Rock Supplier? - 02/05/24 04:19 PM

Anybody have a lead on a rock and gravel supplier in north Texas that's half way reasonable? My usual sources either quit or have gone sky high. I need about 20-25 yards of pea gravel and 50+ yards of crushed 3/8's rock with fines. The quotes I just got from Denton Sand and Gravel seem ridiculous. Over twice per yard what I paid last time. eek2 What's driving prices up here?

Demand. I work a lot with a aggregate industry.

I'd like to know the same!
The load my 'regular' guy brought recently (trying to stay close to Last-years price) was garbage - like half clay or something (versus the beautiful rock he brought me last year!) .
Turned that part of my driveway into a real mess!

What about the pit on 82 between Muenster and Lindsay? Cooke Co crushed stone maybe is the name.

My brother is a rock salesmen at Martin Marietta and he told me the prices are going up so much due to the cost of production. I'd give you his phone #, but he's going to be even more expensive than Denton Sand & Gravel.

Tony's Materials is the cheapest out of Decatur that I have found. Good guy.

It isn't just your area, near twice as high around here as well. A month or two back I ordered 20 yards tops soil for a job at a church, used this guy before and he is srt8 up fella, cut me a deal for $350 per load!

Nolan Enterprises behind Cody's vet practice at 1830 and 377. I pick up a yard of material every once in a while. I cannot tell you if they do high volume delivery or not.

We use Nolan Enterprises and they've always treated us right. They deliver with a 7 yard truck.

Dave's Sand and Gravel is also good 214-616-4608, especially if you need it spread.

What did they want per yard? Since the beginning of covid materials cost have climbed much faster then the rate of inflation and it isn't going to stop.

Crushed concrete is probably your best bet. All the construction is driving up the prices. Nobody can keep up with demand. Fuel prices also drive up the price. Thank your president Joe Biden for that one.

You might give your buddy Ira Wyse a call and see who he is using.
