Cinnamon Pass - 06/15/23 02:43 AM

The Engineer Pass route was half closed so we did Cinnamon from Lake City to Silverton and back. Some amazing views and pretty narly places. Would love to have had some pics of the switchbacks but we were preoccupied. Probably get a Jeep again in a few weeks to do the full alpine or others.

The Alipne Loop and its off chutes are a beautiful place. Too bad the Calirado’s are trying to ruin it.

Whe did Silverton to Engineer to Lake City and back to Silverton on Cinnamon in one day. Left Silverton in the rental jeep around mid day, got back around 9 pm. Cinnamon Pass was much easier than Engineer. It helped that it was late in the afternoon and the trail was clear going up from Lake City. Our trip was in August.

Awesome pics. I love Cinnamon Pass. I'm taking my oldest son and 5 fraternity brothers up there in 9 days. We are likely doing Cinnamon one day. I'm hoping it's a bit less soggy in about 2 weeks.

Colorado had a converted bus/camper crash this week.
Sounds like the bus met a car on a narrow road, PIngree Park Rd, and went over the side. 400 ft down the mountain to a creek.
2 dead and 3 kids hurt badly.
Watch those conditions and be safe!

Thanks for the great pics too.

The sxs and motorcycles are the worst. They run up and down the roads and could care less about anyone else in their way.
Love the mountain roads but those people make it miserable for everyone else.

Same could be said for the Jeeps and other full sized vehicles, those people are painfully slow and don’t understand the advantage of momentum over obstacles.

True dat..
Especially those rental Jeeps being driven by people that have never been in a Jeep and/or their only off road experience is when they accidentally drove off the side of the driveway.

Up here unless they are street legal atvs and utvs they are supposed to yield right of way to full sized vehicles.

From what I’ve seen up there it’s mostly the rental SxS’s that cause all the problems.
