Steveiam is a great guy and we have been missing him for several months. We got this from his wife this morning. If you could, please say a prayer for him.
Thank you Floon for checking in on me. My wife is typing this for me because I am unable to use my hands, more on that to come. The short version is on 02/26 I was admitted to the hospital for sepsis, 3rd time in 9 years.
I coded for 24 minutes on 02/27 and in a medical induced coma for 18 days. Since I woke up my kidneys had stopped working, my hands & feet were damaged due to the meds used to save my life. On 03/30 both legs were amputated above the knees. On 04/12 all the fingers & thumb on my Left hand were removed & half of my right hand and all the fingers & thumb. At this point I can’t type without fingers.
Just wanted to check in from time to time and my wife will type for me. Mentally I am doing great with a “can do attitude “. I appreciate any thoughts & prayers from ya’ll. No pity wanted or needed. I will add that you never know what the day holds for you or the ones you love.
Reassessing what is important in my life with the 2nd chance I’ve been given.
Tomorrow will be Day 60 in the hospital-
WOW, just wow.

What an amazing test to his character for keeping his chin up. Lesser men would fold. Prayers for continued strength, courage and healing.

I've met him several times. He's been through 3 lifetimes worth of stuff and still stays positive. it's very inspiring.
