The 2023 Superduty - 10/18/22 12:17 AM

The technology has changed so much since my 2017. Probably won't be able to acquire one until Summer 2023.

I really like it. But a Ford guy here so there is that.

YMMV.

You get replacements front and rear from ranch hand or a similar company

Solves that issue and should be mandatory if you own a 3/4 or 1 ton truck

Why?

Never had them on mine, never saw a need. I don’t back into stuff and whatever I hit going forward has always hit the winch mount.

Not bad. I’m not crazy about the new front end, but the last one looked so good it’s hard to improve upon. I like the rest of it.

I really need to order a new truck just can’t comes to terms with fragility of an aluminum body. I may just create a mortal sin and order a powerwagon

I need to order one for when I get home next summer. If you get a line on a good deal, please let me know. Bought my last one from Kerrville, but not sure they're willing to do the same deal again, under the current circumstances. Thanks!

There is a dealership that sells them in Idaho I believe for 50.00 under invoice. I would drive there trade my 2017 in and drive the new one home. DFW area has stupid mark ups, even on the 2022's.

Time will tell. Btw order banks open Oct 17th for the 2023 orders.

Only reason an excavator wasn’t used was because we had 33000 pounds of winch lifting the front end up 8 feet while pulling forward. It still took 4 trucks to get me out.

I don’t have video or pics if it’s worst stuck, but the farmer had to use his 6 wheel Deere to get me out and that was in sand on a FM road. I had to sleep in the truck that night.

There’s a dent in the oil pan, a crease on the roof, it goes where I point it, most of the way roflmao

You must not live in an area with Bump Gates, Deer that are attracted to the highway or geriatric seniors who love to play bumper cars

They are trash. Just shut the door or tailgate and watch the body shake.

The Ram is still a solid feel. I’ve been eyeing a MegaCab. I’m not wanting to part with the $40k it’s going to take to buy it. I’ve never had a truck payment over $500 a month, so it’s probably going to be a while

Just read where the order banks aren't opening up until Oct 27th now, and that Ford is only producing XL, XLT, and Lariats for Job 1. Build and Price won't be active until April. Absolutely unprecedented. While all of the Big 3 are having production problems, it seems Ford is having a much worse time time than the other two. Looks like I may be back in a Ram. Hated to sell my 2019 F-250 and really want to get into a 7.3 gasser, but I'm not sure I can wait until Ford gets it all sorted out. bang

No thanks. Ford is a data collection company now. Starting in 2020 as soon as you touch the truck, it tattles on you. Be prepared for your warranty to be void if you alter the truck in any way. I can see them starting to share driving info with insurance companies to deny insurance claims as well. I'm sure the other two manufactures are doing it as well.

Well according to the spokesperson, it is a 6-3/4 INCH bed. You would think they would have listened to it before putting it out to the public. confused2

You are gonna have to look high and low for a good clean 5.9 or 7.3 that hasn’t been heavily modded.

The last year the 7.3 power stroke was produced was 20 years ago now.

They're out there. Been looking for a while and prices are coming down. My current 7.3 has 235k on it but it's an Excursion. I'm going to look at an F350 Weatern Hauler with 135k on it later this week.

Not the WH but another clean one. $20k vs $90k is an easy decision.

I’d buy that if you need a dually, not bad for a 22 year old truck

I wonder what the blue book value is in that truck though….would insurance give it full coverage at $20k?

They would never, ever produce that truck. It would make too much sense and would be too reliable and perform too well.

Would have to have a ford exterior and the Laramie Longhorn interior though

Why? So you bend your frame in an accident that would otherwise be absorbed by the crumple zones. Says my friend the body shop owner.

Earlier this year I ditched my 2020 decked out diesel for a 2004 5.9. I couldn’t be happier. Money wasn’t the reason either the 2020 was paid for and the money I had leftover after selling the 2020 and buying the 2004 is still sitting in the bank. I just enjoy the heck out of this older truck. I have drove it down to coast and up to Texoma with the boat in tow and no issues. I have had 6 brand new pickups in the last ten years and I didn’t enjoy any of them as much as I do this 2004.

Oh I know. I’m sure you could have it built for less than a new truck. Being the donor VIN is old enough, the engine swap wouldn’t have to have any emission crap. We can dream
