THE GREAT AMERICAN ELEPHANT HUNT - 07/12/22 04:43 PM

I saw the ad on here that Long had for "40 Acres and a Cabin" and the one in the Hunting Section about hunting Elephants and it brought back some old memory. It was in the summer of 1975 and I had just graduated high school that summer. Two ephants got loose from one of the circus's near Hugo and was on the loose for around 3 weeek. Did anyone else participate or remember this? This made national news. Below is a link, but there are several different ones if you google them. Good luck with your sell "Long". I have always liked that area.

Hehe. Me and my brothers used to hunt lions, elephants, rhinos and bears in my parents back yard when were kids. That place was crawling with critters when were kids.

No but I’ve seen a baby elephant chained to a speed limit sign in south FW. He didn’t have any shade or water so I had a chat with the owner. Dumbo was all better in about 10 minutes.

Used to be a place right up from Rainswood Marina on Fork that used to have an elephant. I don’t remember any special fences either. It would be right out by the road many times. Can’t remember the story behind it though. This was way back in late 80’s.
