Took off the doors and filled up the tank on the Scrambler yesterday. Drove to Seguin and did some shopping at D&D. They had snake boots in my size, but I could not get them on. That dang high arched instep. Drove through beautiful downtown Clean Seguin and inspected a commercial property a friend is buying. Headed south from there and turned off just past Polecats and went by the Nockenut Cemetery and Union Valley. Got to Nixon and turned left and then headed South when I got to Smiley. Went and looked at a ranch for a fella. Came back to Nixon, but headed North on 80. There came Leesville. went by Belmont, through Luling and in to Lockhart. Grabbed some brisket and a hot link at Smitty's. Went to Lockhart Ace and creeped around a little. Headed to a friend's ranch this side of Galle and chatted. Then proceeded to The Grain Bin in Geronimo. Headed back home where I was so thirsty I just had to stop off at the Olde Ice House.
Don't know how many miles I covered, but it was glorious, absolutely glorious. Recent rains have all the countryside green with tanks brim full. No radio in the Jeep and all there was was road noise to complement the voice in my head. I was fortunate yesterday,. This day will be even better.

I also have deep thoughts, reflecting on things, and pondering, while looking for quiet times.

And I’m thinking about putting the shredder on the tractor. And a voicemail says my tennis rackets are restrung, so I gotta go get them. It was a phone voice, not a voice in my head. It seems that I’m not doing much deep thinking. Any time I sit in a quiet place, I doze off.

If you can find them. tried on Chips without zips. I may end up with Danner lace ups - dread here.

My first pair of snake boots were lace ups. I didn’t like all the sand burrs hanging up in the laces. And thought about a snake getting it’s fangs hung up in the laces. I gave them away.
I have songs playing in my head all the time.

If you hear the singers repeating lines, realize it is only an echo

Yep, there's something about driving through the country on a nice day after the rains have fallen. Last week we went to eat breakfast at the old German bakery in Fredericksburg, looked at the art in the galleries. Then proceeded to the Texas Western art museum in Kerrville, then eat lunch at The Rail. We finally headed down to Bandera where we skipped rocks on the river. It was a nice day.

I’m training teen tennis players...for free. Folks offered to pay me, but that would make it a JOB, and I don’t need no stinking JOB.

I'm still stuck on the "Polcats" comment.... We have a place in Houston called Polecats... I guess you could say that some form of meditation could be done there..

Sometimes you just need a road trip with the windows down (or doors off, in this case).

First of all, we want pics of the scrambler.
Good looking country in all directions down your way(just stay off 35), envy here.
I almost never run the radio, the voice in my head keeps me way too busy.

For BBQ I Like original City Market in Luling.

We also went for a ride yesterday, not as long as yours, but in the country, the wildflowers were in full bloom. In one place the white primrose flowers were like a carpet of snow, Even the cacti were blooming.

Came back from TX Lite Sunday. Traffic on 35 was nothing and we had to head to Seguin to drop off something at Shotsie's. Since we took 130 and had to go by Lockhart, we swung in and grabbed lunch at Smitty's. Oh my, pretty much spot on. The loose pack sausage was superb as always, the brisket was "right there" and the pork chop was amazing. The two downsides which were nowhere near enough to create a bad culinary experience were no avocaders and now they are putting sauce on the pork ribs. Bought enough to bring home left overs. Lunch this day will be wonderful.

Hope you had the chicken fried steak at the Grain Bin. I live about 5 miles from there and have it at least twice a month.

Don't think I've ever seen anyone slice a jalapeno, vs just taking a bite lol.
Beautiful scrambler

Don't think bite size bitten off canned jalapeno pieces is going to fly off the shelf.
