Re: Welcome to Earth - 09/01/20 06:25 AM
I've been thinking about buying him his first fishing pole, and his first gun, but then today I realized.......that's not my job anymore. That's his Daddy's job and I don't want to get in between that. Even though, I may do it anyway
Thank you LORD for the gift of life. To you I will forever be grateful.

Sorry the scamdemic robbed you of this moment and memory you'll never get back. Infuriates me that some of us aren't allowed to cherish something like a grandson being born, while others are free to loot and pillage.

I ain't being called Grandpa, too young for that.

LOL, I've heard that too. This boy has never given me a lick of trouble, we only butted heads one time when he was a teenager and we were both over it by the next day. His Sister though, wheeeeeeeew Lord have mercy. Had more than my share of trouble out of her.

You need to come up with a nickname for him....my boys are Buddy because he was my first and my little buddy and Scooter because he would crawl everywhere instead of learning to walk because crawling was faster, he was a motor scooter, scooter stuck.....my granddaughters are princess and peanut......
Edit: my grandmother’s dad had nicknames for all his kids (13)....I was in my late 30’s before I found out her names was Sally.....he called her Jo and everyone else did too.....
My grandfather and his brother were Buck and Buddy....both nicknames....
I was given a nickname before I was born and it’s the only name I go by.

Re: Welcome to Earth - 09/01/20 06:49 PM
Thank you everyone for all of the well wishes, I really appreciate them. Aggravating, but exciting times we are living in.
Funny how things came full circle with my Daughter in Law's family. 23 yrs ago my DIL's Dad and I used to work together. He took me dove hunting on his family's ranch, and to this day that is still the best dove hunting trip I've ever been on, and I've been on a bunch! So in return, I took him fishing. He had never in his life caught a keeper redfish or trout, so I said we're gonna have to fix that. I had been killing the fish at one of my favorite wading spots. I took him one morning and we caught limits of redfish and trout. I've never seen a grown man so excited LOL. Anyway, work took us separate directions and we never talked or saw each other for all of these years. Then my Son started dating his daughter. When he met my Son he told him "You look like someone I used to know", asked him what his name was and if I was his Dad. When my Son told him yes Sir, he said "Awwww heelllllll, we're in trouble now".
My Son got a kick out of that.
Anyway, just thought I'd share that little story. Funny how things work out sometimes...

You can always do like my SIL, SpitFires sister who is 8 years older than her.....she couldn’t stand the thought of being called any of the typical grandmother names....made her feel old so she had her grandkids call her “Honey”
I’m sure you’ll make a great “Honey”......

Re: Welcome to Earth - 09/01/20 07:35 PM
Thanks yall. Well I hope the little guy someday sparks an interest in cooking, his Daddy never did. Now my 9 yr old Son, that boy loves to cook. He's been making us breakfast lately, I've been letting him run the kitchen all by himself. We just need to improve on the cleaning up part LOL.
I can't wait to spoil him.
Snake - I had a Step Grandmother so to speak that insisted we call her Honey also, was kinda weird but OK yes Ma'am.

That one's tough. I've thought many times about stuff like that for my granddaughter, and that same thought always pops in my head about my son. It's a tough transition. We all have to pass the torch at some point.
