Price check... HVAC return

Last year we got a quote for an in ceiling air return in our master bedroom to balance out the house. The price was around $3,000. Very easy attic access, and should be an easy job. Does the price of $3,000 sound right?

I am a commercial hvac installer. Sounds very very high. Even if it takes 2 bags of flex I would def get another quote.

That sounds high. I don"t know what size the flex duct is, what type return gril, ceiling height but still sounds high.
