I'll go first. Treat, tinkle, outside, feed the dogs, get'em, load, water, and a few more.
You go next.

I think the more things you teach a dog the better they will be. That said the only things they need to know are HERE, and WHOA. The first thing I always teach a pup is HUSH.

My heelers know what I’m thinking before I say anything, with the exception of the youngest. Female is deaf but she knows a few hand signs and knows what to do based on routine. My older male is the smartest dog I’ve interacted with, he knows plenty of words but I rarely use them. He knows what to do based on my body language. The pup is a one dog wrecking crew. He’s got sit, but he needs some work. Keeping his attention is a challenge he’s so wired all the time.

I had a lab that lived in the house for 13 years. He understood more English than most of the High school seniors in Laredo.

I rarely use verbal commands. A look, a point, flat hands at side, hands behind my back to name a few. When when I do use verbal commands, it’s not English, or any other language for thy matter. It’s words I made up and he knows what they mean.

Sit, stay, come, down, no, load-up, find it, fetch, drop, squirrel, deer, and at one point before he lost most interest in toys he knew 10 different toys by name and just about always would bring the one I told him to get if he didn't I would tell him find it and toy name and he would.

My Dad trained and ran Blood Hounds for Angola back in the late 50's into the 60's. The first thing he taught them was, "Get in the GD truck!" He even fed them in the truck as part of their training. If a search party ever got lost in the swamps he'd just yell, "Get in the GD truck!" and they'd try to keep up. No matter how far away, they could always find that GD truck.

For a Border Collie ours has a semi-limited vocabulary. But she sure knows Frisbee. The dog can be asleep on the kitchen floor and I can say "I think I'll cook a Frisbee for supper" and that dog is bouncing at the door.

Cookie, snack, treat, dinner, "half a cup" (night time feeding amount), go outside, go for a walk, go in the car, stay, stop, no, tee tee, each ones name, cage, get'em, probably a few more. oh...expletive Trash can!

When putting his harness on for a walk its; Luke saddle up
Take him with me in the truck its; Lets go for a ride, open the door and tell him to load up.
He does the sit, shake, lay down high five.
If there is a solicitor coming to the front door and I see him first, I say Luke front door and he is all over it.
Squirrel or something in the alley, I say out back and he hauls through the dog door.
Where he gets confused is when I speak in a foreign language

"Deer" is the #1 most exciting thing to say to my blue lacy. She loves to chase them out of the yard.
Both her and the lab get excited at "Load up."
And of course, they know "Let's eat."
