Really could use lots of prayer!

So i'm not the type to blab about anything personal, but I could use prayers right now. The past week has been pretty rough. A week ago I went to the doctor for some issues I've been having with blood flow in my head/neck. They did a chest x-ray and found a mass in the center of my chest that was 11.5cm long. It is pushing against some major return arteries and was the cause of my issues. After a lot of poking and prodding, a biopsy by needle through the chest, and a bone marrow biopsy (NOT FUN!!!) they diagnosed me with a large type b-cell Lymphoma. I'm 28 and have been in very good health my whole life so this is a crazy surprise. There is still a lot of testing to be done, and I will find out next Wednesday the stage I'm in. They are looking to start my chemo at the end of next week once my oncologist knows all about what she's dealing with and can customize my treatment for me. Again, y'alls prayers are definitely appreciated as this will most likely be a really crappy next 4-6 months....

Good luck to you! And I will agree with the earlier suggestion to get a second opinion. Get it at MD Anderson in the Houston Medical Center. I firmly believe that if I had gone to a second tier cancer center, I would have been dead now for 35 years.

Thank you all for the encouraging words and prayers. I have a little update for anyone interested. So I had an appointment this morning to find out more information. I found out that the Lymphoma is in stage 2-A. I will be starting chemo soon, hopefully Monday. My PET scan showed that is spreading somewhat quickly and because of that, generic chemo will not be as effective. The chemo I will be receiving will have to be given the hospital and will require that I stay at the hospital for approximately 5 days while the treatment is given. Im not very exited about having to be in the hospital for 1 out of every 3 weeks for the next 5 months but what can you do. My doctor said that it is still very responsive to treatment and that radiation will still most likely be needed upon completion of chemo. Thank y'all for the prayers and please continue to keep them going as the next few months will be difficult.

Thanks. Ok is about the best I could call it this week. Been pretty constant nausea since Tuesday morning. The worst part is being cooped up in the hospital attached to the IV machine 24/7. The chemo makes me feel not right as in I'm super bored but I don't have the desire to do anything. Luckily I'll be getting out tomorrow late evening sometime.

Also... My doc ordered a chest x-ray on Tuesday to try and see some progress with the large mass in my chest. This is preliminary until I get a full scan after my next round of treatment. Anyway, this morning she told me that it appears that the mass is mostly gone. Which is shock!!! I'll still have to complete 3 more week long treatments after this week, but it seems to be good news!!!

My SIL just finished up her 3rd round last month. Good luck and prayers on your journey with this

**Update**

Ive currently had 4 out of hopefully only 6 chemo treatments. I start my 5th week long hospital stay this Monday. I had a PET scan last week to see how much cancer is left, if it has spread, or how well/if the chemo treatments are working. My doc told me that the results of the pet scan will determine if I need to have more than 6 treatments (possibly a total of 8 treatments). I have an appointment in the morning and assume I will get the results of the scan then. The closer it gets the more nervous I am to find out what all is going on inside my chest. Anyway thank you all for the prayers. They are definitely felt and appreciated!!

Was just looking through a lot of my old threads out of boredom and found this one!! I have not been on here as much as I used to but I never forget how amazing and down to earth everyone in THF is. I also see that this thread was left in limbo (whoops). I am coming up on being 5 years cancer free!!!! Reading everyones encouraging words and prayers is definitely a contributing factor to wellness. I am a firm believer that your mental state can affect how well you recover from something!!!

I had my bone marrow transplant in October of 2019 for Leukemia
I just recently had my one year bone marrow biopsy and am Leukemia free
and 100% donor blood cells
