Yes they did Josh, But this client has 10 work orders AHEAD of yours and he asked me to move this piece to the front of HIS work orders. Sorry you feel slighted but your mounts were not moved back at all. Your pronghorn and TX dall will still be mounted in the time frame we discussed.
Matt, thanks for the kind words.
Longhorn95, it is heavy, this piece has to be dismanntled to be moved.
stxranchman, the backing is a rock finish similar to what Josh will have on his wall pedestal Pronghorn and TX dall.
Chad, thanks bud.

Thanks Hugh. I have done these bases for bushbucks, cape buffalo, eland, and kudu. Don't have to worry about them tipping over. They are also a pivot pedestal. The mounts can be rotated 360 degrees to view at any position in the room.

I appreciate the complements. Here is a Cape Buffalo I did a few years ago on a similar base. This client went back and got another one and it will be added to this piece similar to the double deer pedestal.

Re: Whitetail pedestals on granite base - 01/28/12 02:57 PM

Wow, I thought this thread was lost in the archives.
Thanks again for all the kind words.
One of the pieces I'm currently working on will have 2 large red stags sitting atop a single onyx base.
Roughly 800" of antlers in a single display.
Inside the base a lighting system will be installed that is activated by a photocell which will illuminate the base at night, turning it into the largest night light I have ever seen.
It will be on display at our local SCI banquet next month.
I'll post some pictures when it's completed.

Those really are special. I'd either have to live outside my house of the mounts would! I could set them outside by a window! Great work...

Re: Whitetail pedestals on granite base - 01/30/12 01:55 AM

Richard, when you get your stags up and on their pedestal post a pic. I have seen these 350-400"+ at his shop in person. Unreal animals and awesome mounts also.

These deer are currently being displayed as a pair. I'm having another base built for the 2 bucks shown below. When completed the client will be able to mix and match any of the 4 deer on either of the bases in just a minute or two.
Thanks Josh, Ill post some pictures of the stags in a couple of weeks.
