Frozen brisket and pork butt ? - 09/08/14 06:46 PM
Hey folks, I took a 9lb brisket and 7lb pork butt out of the freezer Friday hoping to cook this Sunday but it didn't work out. Fridge is 37* and as of Monday morning they are still partially frozen.
Would it be ok to leave them in the fridge to season Saturday and smoke Sunday? Sell date on the pork butt says Sept 3rd, brisketSept 13, I put both it in the freezer August 31.

They were in the fridge or did you take them out? If they have been in the fridge thawing you should be fine.

I wouldn't have any problems with that.

Well instead of throwing them out they are on hour 7 of the smoke, brisket was wrapped and is getting close, the pork but has a ways to go still, threw on a chicken and some pork chops too!

Thanks guys, the brisket, pork butt, chicken and chops turned out great. I'm learning this old country more each time I use it.
