any there? Breakfast/lunch cafes? Coleman is pretty small, not sure if there are any. Can't do Allsup's. I know, blasphemy.

The downtown area has really blown up the last few years but I’ve not ate at any of them. Hildagos is adequate food. Then just outside of town there is Big O’s on 67 towards the lake.

Cattle Drive is great food but a bit expensive

Don Luis burgers and wings are very good

Scotty's Bistro is pretty solid and a good place to hang out

Rancho Pizza is nice and owned by the RVL winery people

We just bought a place outside town and are still exploring

Been a while since I’ve been through Coleman but Ambers and Hildagos were two of my favorites.

Hey Buzz!

Coleman has changed considerably since we bought our place in 2007 (which includes multiple food options). Let me tell you what I know:

Black Cur Steak: Open Thursday-Saturday; good but pricey. Reservations are needed unless you show up early Thursday evenings. Wine and some liquor.
Rancho Pizzeria: Wood-fired pizza. Good stuff. Wine.
Cattle Drive Cafe: My opinion is that they've slipped since opening but still serviceable (with a full bar).
Scotty's Bistro: The one place I haven't tried...sorry.
China Wok: decent Chinese.
Hidalgo's: standard issue Tex-Mex. Good steak fingers.
The Corral: good catfish on Friday evening.
Don Luis: burgers and wings. Not awful.
Owl Drug: great burgers in a 1923 vintage drug store.
Best Fried Chicken: standard issue yard bird
Coleman BBQ: OK, I lied...haven't tried this either. I do my own!
Big O's (Valera): Despite my previous BBQ comment, Big O makes a great sandwich in the Big Mitch!

Holler at me with questions!

Mark

Pretty comprehensive list there.

I will 2nd the Big Mitch at Big O's; that and Rancho Pizzeria are our go-tos.

Wow, Buzz...THAT'S a tough one (being Sunday). Coleman Donuts for a kolache. Or drive over to Santa Anna to Ma's Crossroads Grill.

Push comes to shove, whistle at me. We'll fix you something with meat and heat to it!

Not to invite myself, but....if there is a meet up, let me know if open to strangers. I'm less than a half hour away and always up for coffee and breakfast.

If you guys get together let me know. Our place is about 2 miles south of Santa Anna and we're looking to meet some people in the area
