Re: 407 BBQ - 01/12/17 10:02 PM

It's called the "Boss Hawg"

Lightly sauced pulled pork, then caramelized on a flat grill. Served on top of grilled jalapenos, with a layer of melted cheddar cheese on top. Capped off with a toasted bun, and a layer of sriracha mustard. This one is a beast.

Also includes an EKG test afterward

It's cabled Vincent's. We always stop there when we hunt in that area. I explained to the slices what I had gotten last week. Today it was as good as any I've ever had and I live halfway between two three star BBQ joints. I complimented the kitchen after I finished.

I was there on Friday, did we meet? The 80's were really tough on me, so things do get a little fuzzy these days, but I don't recall meeting you. If we didn't, you should have spoken up - TFF/THF'rs get a 10% discount. Hey it's not like it's free, but it's something.

BTW - glad you enjoyed the grub.

Re: 407 BBQ - 01/23/17 08:39 PM

It's time for us to grow a little. After 3 months open, it's more than clear to us that we need a building, so here we go. It's a 16' x 40' cabin, and should be finished by Wednesday. No more standing in the cold rain to order BBQ laugh

Who says we can't have the next TFF/THF G2G here...it's BYOB.

Should be done by Wednesday. Cabin is custom built, but it's a complete package from the factory. They are moving pretty fast with the flooring already.

At that point Bryan immediately knows its my order, tells them to tell me Hi for him and gives them a THF discount. SPOOKY. The man sure knows his customer base... roflmao

We will be expanding. I'm building a commercial kitchen on the vacant lot to the west of our building. Once it's up and tagged by the State, I will move my existing building over there and join it to the kitchen. From that point on, we will no longer be in the trailer, we will be in a regular kitchen.

Got an email from the food editor from The Dallas Morning News yesterday. She wants to sit down and meet on Monday to write about us. Have no idea what I've done to be the benefactor of such great press. Pretty humbling to say the least.

Re: 407 BBQ - 04/28/17 08:24 PM

We just got our first shipment of T-shirts to sell in yesterday. Size med-xxl (got 2 xxxl, but those are mine). They're $20 and $22 for xxl-xxxl.

I hand make the rub, and do sell it, but right now we're using it as fast as I can make it. Due to the number of different pepper styles in it, it costs me a little over $6lb just to make. I sell it to folks on the TFF a lot at $10lb. Let me know if you want a sack and I'll get some packaged up. It'll have to be some time next week though, we're running big loads of meat this weekend and I'm getting very low myself.

Some places do, and some people are extremely sensitive to it.

Re: 407 BBQ - 07/16/17 02:16 PM

I was in the area last week and finally got a chance to stop by and try this place. I thought it was fantastic. I ordered the 2 meat plate and added a 1/2 pound of ribs and was impressed with the portion size (I had to get a take home box when I was done). The brisket had an amazing bark and was extremely flavorful. The ribs were perfectly seasoned and some of the best I have had in recent memory. The sausage, beans, and smoked corn were not slouches either. You have a good thing going Tritonman and I will certainly be back next time I'm in the area! food

I went last weekend and took the wife. Bryan was busy so I did not mess with him but I had a two meat with turkey and sausage. She had a one meat turkey plate and we had leftovers for the rest of the weekend. It was outstanding food

I'm gonna have to stop bragging on his BBQ. Went last night for my weekly dinner run and the line was to,the door. But Bryans staff works very fast and the wait wasn't bad at all. Of course the pulled pork was excellent as always. up

Brian

I just clicked on your 407 icon and followed you on Facebook. In the comment section I bragged about how good your food is and generous portions at a fair price. How good looking the girlies are working up there. Started to say something about the owners looks but I didn't want to scare the customers off laugh

Trying to get a buddy of mine to go to lunch today, if he agrees we will be there up

407 BBQ - 07/28/17 08:32 PM

We went, yesterday evening.

Gotta be the best ever BBQ plate I ever had. I had the Boss Hog with cole slaw, she had sliced brisket, beans and potato salad. We took a large container home, which included 1/2 of the sandwich. Everything had a great, balanced flavor. The three sides were all very good. You can tell they pay attention to everything they cook when all the sides are as good as these. The brisket had a great ring, good bark, just moist enough with a smoke flavor straight off my deer lease. Banana Pudding was creamy, with solid flavor.

Like any Texan, I've had brisket from 100 different places. The brisket is a dead heat with one of the famous places, but when you judge the whole plate it ain't close. 407 BBQ looks back at the rest.

I'm coming through Thursday morning/mid day bringing a load of 407 food to mama's wake. I pick up fresh food that morning and head to Huntsville. Lets hook up via PM and get it done.

PM incoming ...

Re: 407 BBQ - 08/12/17 04:27 PM

Here now brisket, sausage, and potato salad were good. I'm taking the sausage home so I have room for banana pudding. Didn't try the sauce as the brisket didn't need it.

Re: 407 BBQ - 08/12/17 08:33 PM

I think we spoke briefly, my wife and I were sitting at the booth going out to the patio and you asked how everything was. I apologize if it sounded like the review of the brisket wasn't good it was anything but that. I think it had a good bark, was real tender I really wished I would have gotten double the brisket. Really nice place.
