I have always dove hunted and after this year i am starting on duck and geese. My neighbor down the street is a hunter and trainer and when he had a litter i picked up the pick make which is Legend. He is 3 months old now and is a great dog, This is my first lab and hnting dog and i look forward to training him. So far he has come, sit and down figured out and this weekend we will work on heel. He is 3 months and 34 pounds!

The female staffordshire is great with him. She has tunred into his "mother" and is great with him. All the couches in the house are now packed up!

Plan on this weekend, next weekend, the next, etc. Heel isn't an easy one. Stick to it; however, and you will not be dissapointed.

I am having a issue with down right now. When i say down he is laying on his side. I was told to teach him heel with popcorn, anyone ever tried it?

look at the size of his paws lol. They are bigger than his "mothers" haha.

He is gonna be a tank. Looks just like mine did when he was a pup and now he's 105lbs and as fit as can be. Make sure you are really deliberate about making sure you teach him to sit right (as in on his butt and not on his leg) or your gonna have to deal with hip problems.

I wouldn't teach down at this age. Sit, here, and heal are plenty.

I have a 22 month old lab and he is the best dog I have ever had. When dove hunting I shoot and he fetches and his reward is getting to eat the head. He is the most loyal dog, he will stare me down until we go outside and throw the tennis balls and frisbees. The more time you spend with him, the more he will understand your demeaner and what you expect from a command. I can look and point and he knows what to do. Great looking dog.....
