Boykin spaniel - 05/07/12 02:42 PM

I don't remember the correct name {I think it is curly bill) if you are intrested in the boykin spaniel; please contact me. She will be free; you will have to pickup and I will need to visit with you. She must have a good, loving home.

I wish I could help, just not possible at the moment. I really do hope you can find someplace for her.

Re: Boykin spaniel - 05/07/12 04:36 PM

Being we are too old to give her the time and hunting she needs; she will be free to a good, loving home. She is a high energy female, spayed, will be 3 in July. Is not registered but I have the papers to do so. Located in Belton. Anyone intrested please send me a PM or e mail; my cell number is 254 760 4552. thanks db

Good luck dobank...I hate to hear you are in this position. She is a beautiful dog and if we didn't already have 3 dogs I would spoil the hell out of her for ya.

There is a guy looking for a started lab on the migratory board...talk to him. It sounds like with highschool boys it would be a great home with plenty of hunting and entertainment for her.

I'll keep an eye out for you...again, I'm sorry.

I'm sorry for your situation. Contact your breeder. They should be more then willing to take your dog back. All good breeders will do this.

Re: Boykin spaniel - 05/07/12 07:16 PM

The breeder lives in Tenn; and I really don't want to ship her. She is totally house broke and gets along with just about anyone; will chase cats if they run from her.

Your breeder will work with you on getting her back to them. It may cost you something but as long as she's in a good home what more could you want??

If the other potential takers don't work out - send me a PM. I'm sure we can work something out.

Re: Boykin spaniel - 05/11/12 01:11 AM

Good looking dog.

I read in there about something happened with a trainer or something? What's the back story?

How is she around other dogs?

Re: Boykin spaniel - 05/11/12 12:55 PM

When I first purchased this dog ($500) she was soft under the gun. I was lied to by the previous owner. Using wing clipped pigeons and a 22 pistol This problem was solved. I later shot flying pigeons with a 2o ga and later dove hunted with her. She loves to hunt squerils (I have 6 pecan trees) in my back yard. She knows basic commands; but is not a finished bird dog. She gets along well with other dogs and children.
