East Texas Deer Lease - 02/01/08 01:05 AM
My dad and I are on a lease that backs up to Flat Fork creek on Toledo Bend Lake. We are looking for 1 person to add to the lease. The lease is 80 acres but we have national forest on one side that is pretty much ours to hunt because no one else does. Great neighbors on the other side. I have killed one buck that was in the high 120’s – low 130’s and several other nice bucks as well. I have had the lease for 7 years. We do not hunt it that much anymore but we do not want to let it go because it is so close to my dad’s house.
The county is Shelby. It is an AR county and last year the first 19 days you could kill does.
It does have a beaver pond on the front that holds some ducks. I do not duck hunt but I have seen them there. If the pond is full I would say it's 1 acre in size with down timber in it. Probably 4 feet deep.
There is a place for a camper at the front of the lease. No water or elec. There are places to stay on the lake about 10 miles away. I fish up at my dad's more than anything else. If I 'm up there and the crappie are biting the person would be welcome to join us.
The price would be 400 dollars and half the tractor work we get done every year.
If you want to know more, shoot me an email and I can explain everything.
