$1000 Finder's Fee for getting us on a lease

$1000 Finder's Fee for getting us on a lease - 03/04/12 07:17 PM

I saw someone else give this a shot a while back and thought I'd try the same thing.

My buddy and I are looking to join a lease or work directly with a landowner for a year round lease within one hour of Leander. We'll pay $1000 cash to whoever gives us a lead that results in us joining a lease. This can be a $1000 break in your lease cost this year or a $1000 bonus on the first year lease if you are the landowner.

We're both professional in our 40's and experienced hunters with references available. Treating the landowner's property with the respect we give our own and following the lease rules are priorities for us. We both welcome work days as a great break from our normal routine. The only requirement we have other than location is it must be family friendly- we're just as or more interested in taking the kids than going by ourselves.

Leander is 20 minutes north of Austin on 183.

Hamilton area?

Thanks for asking, but Hamilton is too far away for me. I've got to have a place within about an hour of the house to make much use of it. Kids are busy almost every weekend and most of our hunting seems to be an evening hunt here or a morning hunt there squeezed between activities.

You might try Dick Kercheville (Sunset Ranch on Nameless Road), 2671455.
Hunted there a few years back and the deer were few and far between. Maybe it's gotten better since then.

How about Mason any interest?

I'll pass on checking with Sunset Ranch. I'm on a nearby place now where they are few and far between. Want to find a place with more activity.

Mason is too far. Over the past month I've seen several listed leases in the 2 hour range from me. I'm trying this Finder's Fee idea specifically to try to get something closer to home.

Thank you both for the suggestions.

I would definitely be interested in the Mason area - what have you got available?
