Ellis County Deer/Duck lease - 07/22/10 05:30 PM
I have 235 acres near Maypearl that I am thinking about leasing the deer and duck rights on it. This will not be first come first serve. There will be cows on the property but there will only be at any one time no more that 35 head. I have hunted the place last year and killed a 9 pt that went 146". You will see a lot of deer on this place at times I could sit and have 12-15 deer come to the feeders. There is also 10 ponds on the place that hold water year round and they are loaded with ducks in the winter. There will be rules on the place i.e. you will be required to call me everytime you will be there, there will be no shells left on the ground and the place will not be over hunted. I will allow (2) bucks to be killed and we can talk about the number of does. There will be no one else hunting the place at all, the reason I say you must let me know that you will be there is so I can make sure that I will not be out there feeding cows etc during your hunt and I can let the landowner know you will be there. I have a 5 year lease on this place with the option to buy and or lease every five years so it can be a long term lease. I will not put up with any b.s on the palce and will ask that the place is left in the same shape when you leave as it was when you arrived. I am not sure on a price yet it will be based on how we come to an aggrement that the place will be hunted. The only reason I am leasing is to off set the cost of the grazing lease. This place also backs up to a 6500 acre place that is protien feed and the deer that stay on this side bed on my place. Please PM me your number and I will be happy to call you and talk to you about this place. I do not check on this site on a daily basis so it may be a day or two before you hear from me.
