THF Axis Doe Hunt!

The ewe hunt is filled up so now its time for the Axis doe hunt. Hunt will take place a few minutes
outside of Sonora Texas. This hunt will also be for a group of 8. Primarily hunting out of blinds over
feed and water with some safari style hunting once a few tag out. Cold storage.
Rifle hunting mostly but I am set up for archery over a few feeders or bring your pop up and I have a few water holes
to set up at.

Meet Friday 1Pm hunt that evening through Sunday Morning.
Brunch and Dinner provided through hunt, bring your beverages and snacks.

Will be hunting a combination of both high fence and low fence- Semi Guided. Guides to drop off and pick up from stands
unless safari style hunting.
No bucks are currently available.

Cost: $450 Per Hunter, Up to 1 Axis Doe Per Hunter.
2 Nights Lodging & Meals.
Beds are bunk beds, yes some of you will have to sleep on the top bunk. I do have a separate house to stay in with a couple beds
if you clean it up. Please bring your own bedding and towel.

Curious what are you shot opportunities? Interested...and also, what do you charge for a non hunting companion? My Dad doesn't want to kill a critter, but loves sitting in the stand with me.

Final Details!

Meeting time 1Pm Sonora Texas May 4th- we will meet at Rough Creek Taxidermy which is located in between the Sonic
and the Red Beer Barn. It is a tan building.

Go to the ranch to get settled, go to the range to check rifle zeros, then get everyone into stand.
I have everyone down as rifle hunting at this time.

Reminders:
Please bring your beverages both soft drinks and adult. We are providing brunch and dinner. Bring your towel and bedding too.

Hey THF gang. kwr and I will get there right before noon I am guessing right about 1130. I have no recommendations for eats as I have never stopped to grub in Sonora. Suggestions are welcome.

There is cold storage, we do not have an ice maker.
We have a single coffee maker if we have a group that likes to drink a lot of coffee a 2nd one
may be a good idea. I have filters and coffee.

Sutton County Steak House or La Mexicana is going to be your better bets for grub.

It is going to be hot but my son is really looking forward to it.

No one will beat my time on DRT. 13 minutes into the first evening hunt and BOOM!!!! DRT axis doe down. Best of luck to yall

so lets get a report

It was hot, record highs. Asphalt melting in town. It was a great group of guys, and some very respectful
well mannered youth hunters as well. A couple misses, a couple opportunities with no shots fired and over all
we harvested 2 axis does and 2 black buck does. It was a rough one. Right at prime time Saturday
evening a lighting storm came through so we had to pick everyone up to be safe. Everyone hunted hard, put in there
hours and no complaints. I think I saw more bucks than does- just my luck.

I hope everyone enjoyed themselves over all.

LOTS of bucks out there......that is for sure.
