hi im 14 years old and going to be 15 in 2 months. im hoping to shoot my first hog before my birthday and was hoping someone here can help me and let me go shoot a hog at there place. ive been wanting to shoot a hog for two years but since my mom and dad just got divorced my dad doesnt have anytime to take me to my uncles ranch wich is three hours away.

Dont give up hoss your a long ways from me, but i was in the same boat...only my dad doesnt hunt.
Now I guide hunts, just stay at it and things get alot easier when you can drive and have a job to pay for the expenses.

Hang in there Teen Hunter. There will be plenty for you to get once you do get started. Just give it time and it will happen.
Do you already have a rifle? If you do, what have you got?

What exactly you looking for? I assume you're looking for a day trip in the SA area. Got your own rifle zeroed in and ready to go or you need a loaner? Being a young pup sounds like you'd need some transportation as well. I hog hunt at my place, but I'm also a 3 hour run from SA like your Uncle's place, so I only do longer weekend trips, usually leaving Friday AM. Not very high school friendly.
Just to give you some pointers early in your hunting career, offer to do some ranch work for somebody in exchange, and maybe you'll find some takers in the local area. Always feeders to fill and other ranch tasks, and having a willing pair of hands to help can be a big plus. I recommend this approach no matter what age you are.

You two DUDES should lighten up, learn to have fun and just relax. IT'S THE INTERNET!! Good grief. If you take everything serious and to heart online then online forums can get kind of dull.

BAR940: In MI you can do the same thing but they are either 2 legged or 2 wheeled.
teen hunter: I'd love to move to TX and in particular SA,TX. Hog huntin' sounds like sooooo much fun. All the hogs I've hunted only weigh about 20 pounds.

maybe you should be asking who would like to join you for a hog hunt at your uncles place.
you will need them to drive, but will get to hunt hogs with you.
always try to use your own resources...
this may not be the answer, but it is worth exploring.
far more hunters have gas in the tank than they do places to hunt for free.

Your dad all of a sudden has no time?
I know you're only 14 but a word of advice, tell him he needs to have time to take you. My parents were each married 3 times before I exited my teens so I know how it feels. Look if you need a mentor to hunt on your uncle's place pm me and I'll give you my number.
Something tells me you could use some shooting instruction at your age so I'll throw in some Marine marksmanship for free.
