Not sure exactly what you mean. But if you are talking about feeders with 4 legs, with two of those legs being a ladder, the ones I've dealt with have all been very shaky and unstable mainly because they are home made and folks skimp on material to give them a wide base. I hate them.

If you need help getting the feed into the barrel, your best bet might be to look at the tripod feeders that have a hand winch. The home made variety of those are scarey too, but that is usually due to lack of maintenance. Hand winch is preferable to me more than one with a chain hoist only because of the time involved lowering and raising it with a chain hoist.

There are several companies that make fairly decent winch type feeders.

If you are referring to the ones with the "porch" or "platform" to stand on when you climb up, they can be made sturdy, even though alot of them you see are shakey. I built some for myself that are completly solid and I like them. I really think the tripod with a hanging feeder and a winch is probably the safest route to go, and the eaisest to load. For me it was just personal preference to build the ones with the platform for myself to use.

Thats what I meant the ones with ladders for legs and a platform. I just wanted to know if any companies make them you can buy w/o having to make one.

I have not seen any that are identifiable as being "factory" made. But, I only cover a portion of a couple of counties.

It would have to be super stabile and fool proof if I were going to make one, because I suspect there would be some serious liability issues with those, just waiting to drag me into court. That's just my opinion though.

I bought one last year that a guy builds in his backyard. he keeps an add going on Craigslist. Look up deer feeders in Dallas.

It is very sturdy and I wish I had 12 more of them to replace all of the tripod feeders we have.

Deerfeeder is right. The type of feeder you are reffering to is a great upgrade from the standard three pole feeder, however check into a winch feeder compare them to the four legged type you currently are looking at. I think anyone who owns one will agree it is the best system out there. Just make sure it employs a BRAKE WINCH, don't let someone sell you on a standard claw type boat winch. If the claw/catch does not engage it come down might fast.

I like the tripod/winch setup best of all. I have 6 feeders of differing kinds and the one I like best is the winch one. It's made out of 3 18' pieces of drill pipe welded to a steel wheel. Works great and it's too hard for the coons to get to.
