RWM Country - 08/26/17 12:58 PM

Do not order anything from RWM Country in Guntin, TX. This man either takes on much more work than he can handle or he's a crook and I'm thinking a little bit of both. I called him in mid April to order some stairs for my blind and he seemed like a nice enough guy and told me the cost would be $400 and he needed $200 up front and it would take approximately 3-4 weeks. After 4 weeks I started reaching out to him for a status update and he told me he was covered up and it was going to take longer. I then started to contact him once every four weeks all the way through mid August and each time I got the same story that he was just too busy and I would have to wait longer and he couldn't tell me when it will be done. After waiting four months and still no commitment from him on when he will have my stairs built I ask him to cancel the order and to please send back my $200. He told me my $200 was not refundable. I tried to explain to him that making me wait so extremely long with not commitment on when he can start my job should make me eligible for my $200 to be returned to me and he basically had no sympathy for me at all. Beware, this man is not an ethical business man and will cheat you out of your hard earned money.

Sorry to hear of your experience. I was just about to buy one from them, but bought a fiberglass blind from Weaverbilt instead.

In the state of Texas, you can not keep a deposit without providing product or service. You can take him to small claims court.

I see by doing a search on our forum that I'm not the first to have a problem with RWM Country. Please beware of this. I don't want to see anyone get scammed out of a lot of money. You are correct Lazyman, he is in Gustine, TX.

If he is smart and wants to keep his business, he will build it for free at this point. You can't treat customers like this very long and expect to survive.

I am starting on your stairs next week. As I have stated that I would be building them soon. I am sorry that you are unhappy with time frame. I plan on giving an upgrade along with quality product to help. This is 2nd time I have tried to respond on this post today. Also by email. After answering every one of your emails. Do you want the stairs? I really don't want to get stuck with an odd 12'-4" set of stairs. Thus is why deposits are required. I am reaching out. It's up to you.

Re: RWM Country - 08/29/17 12:34 AM

As I told you clearly a couple of weeks ago the order is cancelled and you should be ashamed of how you conduct your business. You and I both know how you handled this situation. I will make sure everyone I come in contact with knows how you conduct business.

Re: RWM Country - 08/29/17 03:25 PM

Again as I stated. Your stairs are next in line. Starting on them next week with free upgrade. Obviously you wanted stairs and I want you to have them. It's all up to you. I'm trying to to work with you. Even after name calling and false accusations.

As a impartial witness to this thread.

It sounds like an order was placed in April, with a deposit. That was over 5 months ago.

It appears he wants his deposit, not the stairs. Why not just send his check back? He is clearly not a satisfied customer. Were there any other agreements made?

As simple as this seems. I can not tie up money in several unique projects worth of materials, consumables and labor. And have people back out and want a refund for what ever reason. Whether Their wife found out, decided to buy tactical rife instead, car broke down, lease owner died... Thus refunds are non refundable.
I'm trying to work with him offering upgrades. Some people are just unhappy people.

But it's fair for you to take his money and not give him is product?

If it is too much trouble to build, then you should not take on the project.

Re: RWM Country - 08/31/17 10:35 AM

Sounds to me like a time frame for construction was given at the time the deposit was accepted for it. If a person isn't living up to their obligations here...a refund would be in order. If a person is that busy building them, having some extra angle iron on hand shouldn't be a problem.
I think a small claims case would be in order here....

This ever get resolved?.

Re: RWM Country - 09/07/17 01:16 PM

Come on man I'm not an "unhappy person". You showed no interest in getting my stairs completed until I exposed you on this forum over four months after I gave you the order and sent you my money. When you take someone's money in the future you should be more honest as to how long it will take you to provide the product. Enjoy my money.

I'm about 90% sure it is illegal to keep a deposit in Texas without providing some labor or product. I remember reading it a while back in a similar thread.

Re: RWM Country - 11/12/17 03:55 PM

This is sure bad press for you over $200.00. This will end up costing you much more than $200. I sure wouldn't take a chance with you. Bad business practice.
