Anyone tried the Wildgame 30-gallon feeders? - 06/29/14 10:16 PM

I have used the Moultrie 30-gallon feeders for going on 4 years and had zero issue with them, other than the coons reach them. heh.

Anyone tried the WildGame 30-gallon feeders?

I am debating if it is worth the drive for the same price or less on the feeders.

Feeder units suck from what I am told. I have only limited experience as my brother just purchased one off a guy that got off my lease. After filled feeder and first time to check on it the feeder unit said "jam" and was still full. Did the test function and worked fine. Reset and haven't been back yet. I have ready a lot of these "jam" issues though.

They suck Russ. Don't do it.

I would go with a Capsule 500#, top choice followed by All Seasons stand and fill 600#.

I've had my Capsule 6 years now and it has NEVER clogged or failed to feed on time. Still has the original battery in it as it is Solar Charged.

Yea, I figured to just go by Cabelas tomorrow. I have 4 of the cheap ol $99 Moultrie ones and they are going on 4 years without a single hitch. Would like to get nice crank-up feeders for all of the pens, but that is a lot of money.

Then again, only really need ONE this month and another next month wink

If their feeders are like their cameras they are probably junk. No more wildgame products for me.

I think they are like anything else in life, there is always some bad ones. I used Wildgame/Remington timers on mine, last one was replaced in 2011, before that was 2008. I do use the 9AH batteries on them also

I've had several jams with there timers as well and have replaced them all. I'm not a fan of climbing to fill any more and built a winch up feeder with a TripleC timer. Next feeder will be a Diamond varmint proof. Wanna buy my winch up to help finance my Diamond? grin

Had 2 of the plastic ones. Never again. Had a couple of bucks knock them over the plastic broke open in several places. Shoulda called wild fame but didn't. Bought a metal one that I saw on sale. It was a wild game, it has been good.

I'm running one for the first time this year. Seems like a good enough unit so far. Been running about 3 weeks. Went and checked it the other day and it's doing just fine so far. Got it on sale for $89 at academy.

If wanting to go with wildgame why not go with the 55 gal barrel on sale at academy right now.

I bought one of these in the past and it did not last long and the timing unit was constantly messing up. I would go with another brand.
