How far down is too much. I’ve set my temp with templaq and the turn the lights off to confirm method. I just want to make sure I don’t need to go faster and hotter to get less of the body.

They are probably a little to low on the annealing. Looking at the annealing line on new Lapua and ADG brass, their line is higher on the case body. Most are right at the case/shoulder junction, or just below it. When I anneal, I try to keep my line above the shoulder by how I direct the flame. I've also had some issues with some brass that the annealing makes the brass very soft, and is hard to not crush the case. If you have higher neck tension, you can crush the cases.

I direct my torch at the neck shoulder junction. I can move it more out on the neck and see what happens.

I’m starting at .315 fired and running it into a .308 bushing then a mandrel that brings it out to .309. I just sized the ones pictured with no issues. Lapua brass if it matters.

Color change should be just past the shoulder. Color change is zinc showing.

AMP is the answer...never worrying about adjusting a flame, batching your brass or having a fire inside your house. wink
