Ultrasonic cleaners

What’s the verdict? Do they actually work? Any reco for make/model? I have zero experience with them . Thanks

I run one. It's the fastest way to clean imo. They don't come out all bright and shiney like dry media or stainless but they are clean in 10min. I bought the harbour freight model as it's identical to some reloading companies models minus color.

Sorry meant to put this in the rifle section. Curious how they work if you break a rifle down and chuck it in there

I have used mine to clean things other than brass. Everything I put in there came out very clean. Some things took more time than others though. I got one large enough to fit most of my handguns.

Getting one large enough to do a whole rifle could be pretty expensive. I think there are a few places in the DFW area that offer this as a service.

If you are looking to buy one, grizzly has some larger models, but I’m not sure any of them would fit a whole rifle.

I’ve also seen some discoloration of plastic parts when using some of the stronger cleaning additives. For some reason I thought it would do a good job of cleaning my eyeglasses; it removed the paint from the frame, lenses came out fine.

best device there is for cleaning the carrier group in your ar's
and it sure makes quick and easy work of any brass i toss in it.

I've found it doesn't do a good job on blackened brass that's been fired in AR with a suppressor on it.

Gotta use really hot water, and the heater function of the cleaner for burnt powder, also the sooner you clean it after shooting it the easier it cleans, if its really old brass you may need to run it through the cleaner multiple times.

I'm old school, just give me the big Lyman tumbler and freshen the media, shootem, dump-em, forget-em. Boom, brand new.

now, I would like to have a big US cleaner for gun parts but my guns never get dirty enough to need one.
