7 mm Remington mag 140 grain Sierra gamekings - 10/27/13 10:44 PM

I have some reloader 22. I can't seem to find a receipt for 140 grains. Anybody reloading these combos and have any idea how many grains to start with?

Checking my notes, I've gone as high as 70 gr with the 140 Sierra. I settled on 67 grs for 3214 fps in my Remmy.

I bet you'll end up at 66 or 67 grs, but I'd start at around 64 grs and work up in one grain increments. Just pay attention to pressure signs and your chronograph and you'll be alright.

Thanks. Gonna start at 65 grains and from there, thanks again!

Suggestion: If you're pushing SGK's at 3200fps+ at deer, wait for a broadside shot and keep it out of the shoulder. GK's are a pretty soft bullet

Good advice, here. I've had good success with cup and core Sierras on mulies and our Texas whitetails. I would happily use them on caribou too, although I've never used a Sierra on any of the 7 caribou I've shot. I would NOT select this bullet for elk or larger, not when Partitions are so reliable, and so ubiquitous.....
