Don't know where you are located but most of the time the Academy in Sherman has some type, may not be your preferred brand but they have them. If you only need a brick I can handle that.

Yeah I am just looking for a brick, when do they usually have it? I generally check around local stores in the afternoons but have come up short for the most part.

Go to Bullet trap to shoot on the range. 100 round for $8.99 I always take a 9 mm to shoot, but buy the 22

Gander Mountain in Lewisville had Remington 1,400 bullet buckets for $70.00 on Thursday. They come in out of stock, but for now, 5 cents per bullet is a great price.

Thank you guys, I will keep checking, Me and my dad generally get my grandpa to go in the mornings because he is retired but back a few months ago when he would go, he would get there before they opened and by the time he could get to the back some 18 or 19 year old would already have grabbed most of it... People would literally Run to get it so we had him stop going .

I picked up some at Academy Plano yesterday. They have American Eagle brand, box of 50 for $2.19, still limited to 2/customer.

All I've seen is the 50 round boxes at academy. Haven't even noticed a price, but they're there often...

Re: Has anyone found any .22lr in stories yet? - 09/26/13 01:16 PM

22lr is the only round I shoot that I can't make myself. That is why I started laying in years ago. I bought wolf mt by the case while it was cheap and Federal automatch every time I visited Walmart. Back then you could buy a dozen boxes if you wanted so I got all the same lot number. I bought single bricks to test with but finally settled on wolf mt as my best ammo so I have a real good selection of partial bricks to test new guns with. I wish I could say I planned it but truth is I just got into shooting 22lr for accuracy and wound up with a gun safe full of tack driving 22's and a ammo safe half full of various types of 22lr ammo. It's nice to have enough to share.

Noticed their reappearance around the Tulsa area. Wal-Mart had them, Bass Pro had 1100 round packs for right at $50, and had several on the shelf (no longer behind the counter).

On Tuesday we got in about 1100Lbs of 22LR. I don't know how many rounds it was total, but easily over 100,00. A lot of it has already sold out. Most of what's left is CCI Standard.

It's amazing how fast it sells.

Re: Has anyone found any .22lr in stories yet? - 09/30/13 12:23 AM

I just stop by Walmart on my way to work in the morning. This week alone I picked up a few thousand rounds of .22lr Federal in 555 bulk packs, Federal Auto Match in 375 round boxes and CCI in bulk and those plastic slide cover boxes of Mini Mags and Stingers.

Between my adult kids and the 8 Grandkids, we burn through .22LR pretty fast on BBQ weekends at the ranch because it's fun and instructional for the young one's. Ten bricks just isn't a lot of ammo with 8 kids and their parents.

The older Grandkids have graduated to being able to effectively handle the AR-15's now. I bought 3 cases of Federal 5.56 62 gr green tip at Walmart yesterday for 44 cents per round and a bunch of .223 55gr in brass for 32 cents per round today.

I saw the handwriting on the wall in late November last year, after the election results came in. The signs were as obvious as they are now, so I never bought a single round of any caliber from the scalpers between now and then because I didn't need to.

Now, I'm needing to rebuild the supply as the prices drop and we get ready for the next panic. Whether it's the new ammo tax being kicked around, another panic or plain old inflation - we aren't going to see .22lr at 2 cents ever again. Heck, even today's 3-6 cents seems great to a lot of people.

Yeah, ammo is coming back onto the shelves fast now. If you could buy a whole bunch of fuel today at $1.00 per gallon, and have it stored and ready for you - how much would you buy? The obvious answer is "as much as I can" because you know you will need it. Would that make you an evil hoarder?

If you don't use much ammo, don't worry about it!

I have been looking but still haven't found any in grayson yet. Would anyone be interested in selling a box for a reasonable price? Assuming we live within a reasonable distance? I am not one of those guys who buys all they can to sell to others at crazy prices, I just want to shoot it! I got a new Sig 522 about a year ago and I haven't even put 50 rounds through it.
