300 Win Mag Load w/Hornady 180 gr SST

I am loading a 300 WM for the first time with these bullets. Standard over all cartrige length for this caliber is 3.34. I have the bullet sticking out past crimp. Total cartrige length is 3.45 (dummy round). This does not touch the lands in my Remington 700 or Ruger 77. I noticed this bullet is longer than most on the back but not in the front. Anyone loaded with this bullet? Any caliber?

Another quwstion, What primers - standard or mag? I have several reloading manuals and they don't match.

180gr SSTs with 75.5gr of RL-22 with Winchester brass, magnum primers seated to 3.34".

I have some IMR4350 and H1000 I'll be trying because I have it on hand. RL-22 is one I will try later.
Any kills with the 180 SST? What rifle do you have and accuracy? I'm be shooting a Ruger M77.
