Brass cost?

Guys I have a buddy whose trying to clean out his garage. Hes got thousands of pieces of 40 and 9mm brass. Anybody got a ballpark on what this stuff is worth?

I figured 35$/1000 for cleaned brass sounded good.

Scrap is over 2.00lb I thought. Figured cleaned and polished brass would be worth something.......

Talked with 2 major recyclers over some of my scrap brass, best quote i got was $1.90/ lb on ammo brass.

Scrap varies where and when. It is supposed to go up. I came to retract my comment. to slow.
