Need some opinions on tripod stands

Need some opinions on tripod stands - 10/23/14 05:59 PM

I was wondering if I could get some feedback on different tripod stands ya'll use and if they work good with the bow. How much they cost and where you got them would be appreciated as well. I'm looking around the interweb and all the good deals seem to be made of really cheap metal. I would like to keep it around 200$ but if any stands are really good I could always spend a bit more. Thanks!

I bought two Summit 15-footers from Academy for $119 each (massive sale) about 6-7 years ago and they've been great. I am looking for another, but like you, I've found that after the great steel-rush of the late 00's everything now is as thin and weak as can be. I did see a really nice one at Cabela's here in Lubbock the other night but I think it was $349.

Academy has the Summit tops for $99.99 right now, and the 12' leg kit for $79.99. I don't like the design of the new steps they are using but I haven't seen it in person. If you took the rail off the top it would probably be very archer-friendly (or shoot standing up).

This is stand I have. It actually has 4 legs and a platform you can stand up on. It is a lot more stable than most of the store bought ones I have hunted. No thin metal here.

There is also the game winner 10 foot tripod ladder stand going for 150! It is on the hot deal part of their website.
