single pin vs multi - 09/29/14 06:25 AM

i know ill start a can of worms thing here but oh well... i currently have a 5 pin fuse sight on my hunting bow. its a well made sight with no real problems. decent adjustments and such but i get the bug to change things up every once and a while. with that said, i tried my buddy's bow that has a single pin sight and it seemed hard to hold on target. most likely cause I'm not used to it, and his bow is about an inch shorter draw length than mine. but that got me thinking on it, i don't shoot past 50 yards and really thats a stretch. its mostly 15-40. I've read some things that say if you plan on staying 30 and below that a single pin is ideal, and I've read somethings that say single pin is a joke.... what are halls thoughts? I'm thinking maybe i just go with a 3 pin setup to help clear up the picture...

I would not change during season, stick with what you are accustomed to. After season play with what ever you want. I like a 5 pin sight but do shoot to 60 at times which makes those shorter shots seem so much easier. In you case of wanting less cluttered 3 pins would work fine as well.

I like a single pin sight for target, but for hunting I want a multi-pin sight so there is less to move during the moment of truth. There is enough to think about then.
