Help with sight...

Help with sight... - 09/24/14 12:54 AM

The GF just got a new 4 pin sight.

I put it on this evening and attempted to sight it in for her...
I kept shooting low groups, so I would adjust more, shot low groups again, moved the entire sight ring lower, shot low...

Long story short, sight ring is moved as low as it will go and pins are moved as low as they will go which makes the top pin just right for about 12-15 yards. But now there is no adjustment room for anything longer than 15 yards on the remaining 3 pins...

Any help or advice? I've never had this much problem with a sight...

Her bow is a Quest Radical set to about 38lbs shooting Carbon Express Hot Pursuit 90's...

Open to any ideas to try before this weekend...

Since she is shooting slower, the sight will need to be down further.

Maybe get lighter arrows/field points?

Is it just a new sight on a bow she has been shooting with consistently?

Depends on which sight, but some can be flipped over and will give you more room to drop it. Let her shoot it and see where it hits. Her set point and draw length can make it shoot different than you.

Sight is a 4 pin TruGlo on a Quest Radical. Cant flip the sight over... Thought about that and there is no adjustment room for it or I would try it...

She had a cheap 3 pin that would lower much more but this TruGlo just isn't going to lower down anymore I don't think.

Just a new sight. She's been shooting with this bow for a short while.

Are you sure the D-loop is dead on center. 1/8 out of square could be the difference. Especially if it was set up by a package store.. One reason I never let anyone touch my bows.

Had this same problem a few years ago. Wound up being my peep sight was off.

Sounds like you're going to have to raise your peep sight or lower your D-loop/nocking point.
