Back up bows

So after my limb breaking on my bow I'm thinking about buying another bow. My question is should I buy the same bow r buy a diffrant brand of bow? And should I set them up the Same like same sights rest all that thanks

As long as you shot the bow(s) well it does not matter. I know lots of 3D guys that shot two or three different bows and set up from one day to the next. Get it dialed in for you and you will be good to go.

I have backup setup and helps with confidence. Primary is Iceman and backup is Black Ice, same rest and sights on both so there's no change for me. If they are tuned and shot I can grab and go. One little issue with one and am confident with other, if your away from home on a hunt it makes for a little relief.

It will come in handy in situations like this one. If all you are gonna do is hunt then yes, set them up exactly the same. I will check in your limbs today when I go in to the shop.

I've always had a back up bow; shoot anything can happen. Cut a string, run it over, drop it, a bunch of things can go wrong. It's easier to grab another bow and keep on hunting, as long as you can shoot it, it doesn't matter what it is.

I have three traditional bows (different makes and poundage) that I'm going to hunt with this year, and I practice on all of them every day, just incase I have to switch in the middle of a hunt. I'd rather use a back up than drive back home in the middle of the rut!

Thought your backups were rocks and clubs? Isn't that what y'all used chasing critters in prehistoric times? Kinda hard to transport a cliff to run stuff off of!

when going out hunting I have a backup. Archery have the recurve, compound and crossbow just depends on which setup I am hunting as to which I use. When gun hunting there are a couple rifles, shotguns, handguns that make the trip and like bow hunting it depends on the setup I am hunting as to which I use.

Have full confidence in the equipment and mine are not necessarily as much backups as setups, depends on the situation as to which I hunt with. On a two occasions I have been glad to have an extra along when scopes have failed on a hunt. Never had a failure that I needed a backup with archery gear.

I'd say its more of a personal preference. My backup bow is my old bow. The next best thing is to find out what bow shop is in the area you're going to, and to know their hours of operation should you need help.

And yes, on my old bow I've outfitted it with the same peep, sight, rest.

Let me rephrase upgrade...when I shot my release through my old bow lees then a week before a Colorado hunt and had to get a new bow. I kept it when I got it back from elite. I have a two bow bow case so now I take both. I just switch out sights real quick if I need to.
