I recommend you don't buy a used Horton.

I'm happy with my Ten Point. Made several kills with it. Nuts on accurate within 40 yds.

I have two Parkers and they are very accurate and quite compared to many.

I bought a recurve for simplicity. Excalibur and Kodabow are the two best of the recurves. Recommend goping to a shop that will let you handle and shoot some, and make your choice on what feels right for you.

Stryker Strykezone 380. Can get one for about 600 new ready to shoot. best xbow for the money PERIOD. they are being replaced by a different model this year but still an amazing value.

A recurve will not likely ever have any problems, last for many years, and Excalibur crossbows are known for being reliable and good customer service. There is a reason that brand has such a cult following.

Whats wrong with a used Horton? I have one I bought used. Has been working great for years. It's a Horton Hunter XL.

Excalibur for sure. Bought my dad one for fathers day and the thing is crazy accurate.

Within 40 yards, we had to start retrieving the bolt after every shot because the second shot was breaking the bolts already in the target.

Also, you can take the bow part off the unit and store them in just about any hard gun case. Saves you a pretty penny not having to get one of those fancy crossbow specific cases

I did a lot of research on this last year but wound up not buying. When I do, it will be an Excalibur. Before you buy, check prices on Ebay.
